WEARABLE PAINTINGS
Are original, hand-painted oil paintings measuring 10 × 10 cm (3.9 × 3.9 in), designed to be displayed on a wall as conventional paintings or touched, unhung, and worn on the body as an accessory.
WEARABLE PAINTINGS are made on a specially engineered canvas designed for this format. Each canvas incorporates a custom mechanism that allows it to be handled and fitted with interchangeable attachments such as straps, carabiners, and other accessories transforming the painting from a wall-based work into a wearable object.
Movement to paintings!
The project aims to create a socio-culturalmovement in which paintings are no longer confined to private collections but gain the ability to move through public space.
It removes centuries of static display, transforming painting from a symbol of passive aesthetics into a public statement that becomes part of everyday life.
Paintings that engage in a global conversation around contemporary issues, thru historical painting categories like landscape, portrature, still life among others.
THE STUDIO
The paintings are produced in a painting studio by Franklin and a team of collaborators, using an innovative method that makes it possible to create large series of original oil paintings across a range of genres, inspired by the history of painting, including portraiture, landscape, abstraction, still life, and fantasy.
